After the failure of the Rio +20 summit, where now for the fight against climate change? The leaders assembled in Brazil may not have reached a consensus, but protesters outside think they do have some of the answers. 

They organised what was called the People’s Summit and dismissed the real summit as ’empty talk’. This report investigates some of their inspirational projects hoping to make a difference to the lives of the world’s poorest people, and the pressure for change from the millions mobilised by social media. So can individuals really make a difference where politicians have failed?
